Recall the photos of the Castro that I took during the filming of Milk? The trailer has been released. My friend Gerard and I went to the de Young museum in Golden Gate Park this morning to see the Chihuly exhibit. He is visiting from Texas so I took the day off. The exhibit is sensational. Many pictures here>> Sorry I haven’t posted anything lately or responded to e-mails in the past few weeks. I’ve [...] I’ve been back at the gym for three weeks now. Hopefully it will be for good this time and I won’t hurt myself and have to stop again. Nearly nine months away was too long. I can’t believe it’s been so long. NINE MONTHS since I stopped working out and began physical therapy. This is what [...] Last Sunday, Fuad and I walked over to the home of a couple we know in Ashbury Heights. Their son had recently had a birthday, so we brought he and his younger sister a few gifts. On the way, we stopped to look at the new townhouses that were just finished at the top of 17th [...] Chuck would have loved this. After Fuad picked Chuck F. and I up at the airport following our drive, he told us that filming for the movie “Milk” had begun and that parts of the Castro had returned to the 70′s. “Milk,” as you might guess, is about Harvey Milk, the gay activist and San Francisco [...] As I was getting ready for the Real Bad* party, Fuad went for double lattes. I decided to shave my beard down to a van dyke, which was not a good idea. It did make me look much younger, but it was still not a good idea. After some internal debate, I put on the [...] The Folsom Street Fair* was last Sunday. I woke up tired and with a headache, despite having slept 8 hours following a nice dinner with friends (this was actually the highlight of the weekend). Naturally, we went to the fair anyway. I had been planning to go for weeks and dammit, I was going to [...] “Please stop the car,” I said to Fuad early yesterday afternoon. We were on Twin Peaks Boulevard, about a block from home, when my mouth began filling with saliva. I knew what was coming next. He pulled his Jeep to the side of the road and had barely stopped when I fell out to the sidewalk [...] We interrupt the recent political entries for random bits from yesterday. I was sitting near the gym entrance waiting for Chuck F. when an unfamiliar guy walked by and stopped next to the front desk. I briefly looked at him. Tank top, cargo shorts, dark hair, perfectly groomed chest hair. Another tourist, I thought. My gaze [...] After a late lunch with Chuck F., I stopped by Moby‘s, who lives in the same building. I really didn’t expect him to answer the door shirtless, but then, I’m not wearing one at the moment either. But I was when I stopped by. Anyway, we sat down on his sofa and talked for a short [...] |
