Thank you to post cards? Interesting.

But, Southern culture is traditionally more gracious and polite than most of America, especially in rural areas. It is one of the things I like about going home. The rest of the country isn’t as friendly and hospitable.

Some people who lean liberal are uneducated and ignorant. In the ’50′s Adam Clayton Powell was expelled from the House of Representatives for corruption. His district re-elected him. We have loons in Congress from Ca who regularly get re-elected (both left and right).

Of course the plentiful churches and the stupid bumper stickers are directly connected. Many people who attend church regularly are conditioned to believe anything a male in a position of power tells them. No questions allowed. Such interesting things as Jonah being swallowed by a whale (true!) or zombie Jesus rising from the dead (true!). So when Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Glenn Beck speaks to these people through that magical television or radio, they are conditioned to believe and not question their gibberish too.

Rob: When I lived in Texas, I lived near Wichita Falls, which I notice is in the Red area. “Abandoning your responsibility and getting drunk…” That’s revivalism Rob! Beginning to see through some of the stuff (yeh, generalizing!), the Right Wing says. Good post.
